the rockabilly transition.

When I got back from NYC I realized how truly bored I am with gyaru style... the clothing, make-up and hair. The bond that I once felt with gyaru isn't there anymore. I love looking at the style but, it's not for me, at all. I am a curvy chick with a weird look and this

Is not me at all. I love that it is hard and feminine at the same time but, I've been itching to transition to another style, so much but, honestly I don't want to be a "poser" since people at work sometimes just say people in my town do rockabilly for attention without liking anything to do with the music and so on. I've always like 1950s and 1960s music, it is kind of what I was raised on... that and 80s rock so, I don't know, maybe I should get up to date with some of the current rockabilly bands?

I am no stranger to rockabilly and psychobilly styles as they hold a HUGE reunion in my town, Lake Havasu City every year that I attend. I do like to dress up and I have participated in a few rockabilly themed photoshoot (although I am never photogenic, lol).

Although I was styled (hair and make-up) mostly by one of my friends who used to be into the rockabilly style, it was fun and kind of comfortable to be rockabilly. So, in an effort to transition, I am following more blogs that have to do with vintage and rockabilly; I also am making an effort to phase out my "gyaru" clothing which, I feel that I need to sale so I can put some of the money towards getting some nice rockabilly standard pieces. I am a wiz with modifying clothing so, anything that can be modified into a rockabilly styled dress/shirt/etc, will be :)

Now, my most recent and everyday make-up style is this current picture:

My only "red" lipstick was more pink than red. I went and bought Revlon: Just Bitten lip stain in Gothic which, is a nice deep red and I will use that first now and layer my current red over to dim it a little. I will have to post a review because it is excellent! Anyway, I know my eyebrows are a bit thick and I am working on that! I am used to drawing them so thick so, I'll need to thin them up a bit as well as, I am cutting some Betty bangs in this weekend as well, I think they will suit me, I hope, haha!

I guess I should tell any blog readers (if any) about myself. I am 23 years old and I currently live in Lake Havasu City, Arizona! I am a nail tech and I have been working for 2 and a half years and honestly, I love my job. In July, I will be with my partner, Kristin, for 2 years. We've been through a bumpy road but, we are doing good now :) She is fully supportive of my decision to transition to that sexy rockabilly girl! I am so excited and to be honest, this community seems to be a very body positive community and I am excited to make some new friends!

Love,
Lyn
